Whether you are getting out of the heat of summer or planning that Arizona get away, this could be your home away from home. This property is pretty well off the beaten path, but once you reach the highway, its only about 15 minutes to the town of Winslow. Winslow has grocery stores, a WalMart, restaurants, hotels, and all of the small town amenities that a new homestead would need.
This acreage is very unique in that the only dirt on this lot is in the SE corner. The rest is smoothish slide rock likely formed through erosion. In fact, Itd be completely possible to park an RV or other vehicle right on the rock as its pretty flat in most places and theres no risk of sinking into dirt there. There is a nice wash which runs through the center of the property from South to North.
There is no evidence of utilities being available here. The property has a couple of neighbors, the nearest is only a dozen or so yards from the SE corner. The other neighbors are about 100-200 yards to the NW and appear to have a nice small home.
To reach the property from Winslow, first take US87 South toward Heber-Overgaard for a few miles before turning left on Highway 99. Take Highway 99 for several miles before turning left onto Stetson Road. Stetson Road is a well-established dirt road that is groomed. Turn left on Stallion Road and follow it until you round a large warehouse-looking building and continue onto Pinto Road.

Whistling a tune known the world over is what you do when you’re at Winslow’s Standin’ On a Corner Park, which capitalizes on the song’s multi-decade fame. In the same block, you’ll find the Old Trails Museum which houses memorabilia – much of it donated by citizens – that tells the history of a town shaped by American Indians and Western pioneers.
Hiking enthusiasts, you will want to head just north of town to Homolovi State Park, where you can walk the trails around archaeological sites and ponder the petroglyphs of the Hopi ancestors that lived in the region until AD 1400.
Petrified Forest National Park
Experience one of the world’s largest and most vibrantly colored assemblies of petrified wood, historic structures, and archaeological sites at Petrified Forest National Park. 200-million-year-old fossils tell the tale of the prehistoric earth and its inhabitants in Arizona’s Painted Desert.
But there’s more than wood to the Petrified Forest’s history. You can see remnants of more than 13,000 years of human history at the park, including Puerco Pueblo – a nearly 800-year-old, 100-room dwelling, a diverse, extensive collection of prehistoric pottery fossils and even a protected section of historic Route 66.
